Jesus satisfies

Jesus is teaching me that He is the only thing that satisfies. I ate a piece of cobbler. It tasted good but the good feeling did not last. I bought some new jeans. That was exciting for a day, but then I lost all enthusiasm. I started a new job. That was exciting for a month. I received a lifetime longing for a dream I had. The joy from that lasted for a week.
Only Jesus satisfies the longing of my heart. He is the only constant in my life. He really is the Bread of Life and the Living Water which sustain me.

What is Thin Within?

I first learned about Thin Within after reading the book Thin Within by Arthur and Judy Halliday.
My daughter, to whom I shall always be grateful, introduced me to the book. I later read Thin Again which was written by the same authors.
There is also a web site http://www.thinwithin.org/ with forums and online classes. These are free of charge. I have gone through all four workbooks. The workbooks may be purchased by contacting Thin Within.
Thin Within is based on two principles. One is physical, the other is spiritual. The physical principle is that we should eat only when hungry and stop when the hunger is satisfied. There are no good or bad foods. We learn to listen to our body signals.
The spiritual principle is that it is difficult to do this in our own strength. We often eat as a response to different emotions instead of to fuel our bodies. When this happens we develop a relationship with food.
The Thin Within studies help us to understand our relationship with our Heavenly Father and to go to Him for our needs instead of going to food.
