Thought provoking

I heard something today that goes right along with TW. A TV minister said that we either live by principles or by preference. If we live by preference we live for our own pleasures. If we live by principle we live by what is right no matter how we feel.
He also covered the fact that our body is not our own to do with as we please. It is the Temple of the Holy Ghost.
That makes me think twice before having that fourth cup of coffee or about overeating.

What is Thin Within?

I first learned about Thin Within after reading the book Thin Within by Arthur and Judy Halliday.
My daughter, to whom I shall always be grateful, introduced me to the book. I later read Thin Again which was written by the same authors.
There is also a web site http://www.thinwithin.org/ with forums and online classes. These are free of charge. I have gone through all four workbooks. The workbooks may be purchased by contacting Thin Within.
Thin Within is based on two principles. One is physical, the other is spiritual. The physical principle is that we should eat only when hungry and stop when the hunger is satisfied. There are no good or bad foods. We learn to listen to our body signals.
The spiritual principle is that it is difficult to do this in our own strength. We often eat as a response to different emotions instead of to fuel our bodies. When this happens we develop a relationship with food.
The Thin Within studies help us to understand our relationship with our Heavenly Father and to go to Him for our needs instead of going to food.
