FLesh Machinery

After reading from TW about flesh machinery I realize that food still means too much too me. I still eat for pleasure and comfort at times.
I want God to be first in my life and for Him to satisfy me even more than the richest of foods.
I want Him to be my all.
Help me Lord to have no other Gods before you. You are enough.

What is Thin Within?

I first learned about Thin Within after reading the book Thin Within by Arthur and Judy Halliday.
My daughter, to whom I shall always be grateful, introduced me to the book. I later read Thin Again which was written by the same authors.
There is also a web site http://www.thinwithin.org/ with forums and online classes. These are free of charge. I have gone through all four workbooks. The workbooks may be purchased by contacting Thin Within.
Thin Within is based on two principles. One is physical, the other is spiritual. The physical principle is that we should eat only when hungry and stop when the hunger is satisfied. There are no good or bad foods. We learn to listen to our body signals.
The spiritual principle is that it is difficult to do this in our own strength. We often eat as a response to different emotions instead of to fuel our bodies. When this happens we develop a relationship with food.
The Thin Within studies help us to understand our relationship with our Heavenly Father and to go to Him for our needs instead of going to food.
